Create Your Own Mini Event

Are you not in the direct route of the relay march? We still encourage you to get involved by creating your own "mini" march-a-thon event. Develop your own marching route and create a fun event in your area. You can still use our online fundraising site to develop your own fundraising page.

Here are some tips to make your event successful:

• Map out a route
• Set up a celebration event at your ending point. Have tents, entertainment, balloons, and refreshments for your marchers.
• Spread the word! Tell anyone and everyone to encourage involvement, both to solicit walkers and donations.
• Make it your own. Find ways to make your event unique to your community.
• Create a press release and send it to all media contacts in your area - TV, radio, and newspapers.
• Take photos at your event to send to your local newspaper along with a story after the event takes place. Publicity after-the-fact just sets the stage for future events!
• Most of all, HAVE FUN!
