Approximately 75 credit union individuals gathered together for our Marching Miles Appreciation Breakfast at InVest48 on April 6. Immediately following, more than 400 credit union professionals enjoyed the announcement of our fundraising total at the InVest48 Opening Session.
At breakfast, we enjoyed the presentation of plaques to our top online fundraisers. Congratulations to our top three fundraising teams - Western CU, Ohio HealthCare FCU, and KEMBA Financial CU; our top three individual fundraisers - Paul Bohlman, Robyn McGuire, and Terry Corrigan; and, our top three Credit Union Chapters - Central Ohio, Miami Valley, and Cleveland. In addition, we heard from Joe Dearborn of CMN Hospitals and Brian Harman of Nationwide Children's Hospital Foundation. We also announced the recipient of our PaintFest Mural, sponsored by the OCUL Credit Union Chapters, to be painted in the InVest48 Expo Hall. The hospital receiving the mural to display in their facility is The Children's Medical Center of Dayton!
We were also lucky enough to hear from a Nationwide Children's Ambassador Family, Melody Evans, who spoke about her daughter's battle with cancer and how Nationwide Children's Hospital's treatment has allowed her daughter to be cancer free for three years now!
Our final order of business was to announce our grand total raised of $130,500 this year, bringing our 5 year total to a half million dollars! Thank you ALL who participated in this year's event! And, special thanks to Co-Op Financial Services' Miracle Match program which provided us with a $25,000 donation to our Marching Miles efforts!
