Day 7 - From North Springfield to Downtown Springfield

Saturday April 7th, after a days rest to observe Good Friday, the Ohio Credit Union Marching Miles for Miracle resumed it's march to Cincinnati . Again, it was a chilly day in Ohio. At around 9:30 am the temperature was only 28 degrees.
Layering is the best way to dress for the cold so after donning the official Marching Miles t-shirts the marchers resembled the Pillsbury Dough Boy and Dough Girl. In spite of the cold, grey skies and a brisk wind, the 5 valiant Credit Union souls took up the official CMN medallion and began their march to Springfield Heritage Center from their starting point, International Harvester ECU.
Jim Kozelek (our first Credit Union Director to march) and Andy Sonderman led the 5 marchers south along the Simon Kenton trail. Melissa Johnson and her daughter Jennifer marched with Bill Butler. It was a fairly quick pace, the marchers walked the 7 miles in only 2 1/4 hours. As experienced in the prior marches, the time together provided good companionship and a chance to get to know fellow Credit Union enthusiasts who are passionate about supporting Ohio ’s kids and the CMN hospitals that care for our kids.
The "Marchers" were warmly welcomed at noon by Kathy Allen CEO of The Education Credit Union and Kim Michael Member Service Supervisor of The Education Credit Union. The hot coffee, hot chocolate and hot soups were just what the walkers needed to warm up.
Special congrats to those marchers that marched miles in the cold for our Miracle Kids!
