Our 19th day, April 24, concluded our 190+ mile march from Toledo to Columbus.
Marchers met at Nationwide Children's Primary Care Center for some words from a Central Ohio family who is very familiar with the great work of Nationwide Children's Hospital. Laura Reich spoke of her daughter, Natalie, and their experience. It's always nice to hear first hand stories to reinforce the need for fundraising events like Marching Miles for Miracle Kids.
With tears in their eyes, marcher set out for their final 2 miles of the March. 3-yr old Natalie took the first few steps to see them off.
Marchers from all portions of the event met at the Columbus Convention and Expo Center for the final rally for this year's Marching Miles event. This year's Ohio Champion, Devon Eley, greeted everyone and accepted a $103,000 check on behalf of Children's Miracle Network.
While final numbers are still being tallied, it appears that through the Marching Miles March and Wine Auction, Ohio Credit Unions have raised more than $118.000 for Ohio's Children's Hospitals! Let's all pat ourselves on the back for a job well done!
Marchers of the final leg:
Glenn Coble (Marion Community CU)
Tom Furrey (Western CU)
Mike Shafer (Powerco CU)
Marilyn (Frost Financial Services)
