Day 17 - Brecksville Station to Stafford Park
Today was the final leg on the historic Towpath trail. We started at the Brecksville Reservation and ended our journey at Stafford Park in Maple Hts.
The morning looked ominous at daybreak but when 9:30 am rolled around the skies cleared up enough to give us to give us a dry, partly sunny, and pleasant send off.
Special thanks to Tam Schervisch and her crew at Unity Catholic CU for supplying us w/ a Panera breakfast of hot coffee, muffins, and bagels. We had a dozen marchers present from Eaton Family, Firefighters Community, Ohio Catholic, Acme Federal, and Unity Catholic Credit Unions, as well as Dawn Pagon from the law offices of WWR. (She made sure that all the liability release forms were signed!) The march was very scenic thru the Towpath trail and a good time was had by all along the way. It was good to see old friends again and make new ones along the way. Abby the dog, also had an especially fun time chasing the ducks and the geese into the canal all along the trail.
The rain held off just long enough for us to our final destination at Stafford Park in Maple Hts., at which point Stephanie Thomas and her crew at Ohio Catholic Credit Union was kind enough to treat us to Subway lunches back at their main office. |
